A Message from the Manager

The Perfect Pair is an Odd Couple

Some time passed after the Lord opened my heart and eyes and I started doing meth and drinking really hard again. I am an alcoholic and went into treatment last April; I would always have WAY-FM on my radio in the truck. As I left work for home, my favorite bar was on the way. But listening to WAY-FM and singing praises to the Lord, I was able to bypass the bar and make it home. I now have 8 months clean and sober and listening to WAY-FM helps fill my heart and gets me thru the day, singing his praises with the inspiring music that I love. Thank you for being on the air!

Do you suppose people are frustrated in finding romance because they’re looking to be the perfect pair rather than the odd couple?

I’m wondering if this might be a principle not only in romance, but in life!

It’s easy to see how pain pairs with sorrow, but "pain and joy" or "sorrow and comfort?" Those are odd couples! Yet Jesus indicated in his message commonly referred to as the Beatitudes how "odd couples" are "perfect pairs."

Those who are merciful will be shown mercy or those who mourn will be comforted. And God blesses those who realize their need for him.

This is illustrated in Wendy’s story above. She’s going through hard and difficult times, but through her faith in God experiences freedom!

I’m thankful that WAY-FM could be there as a source of encouragement for Wendy and all who listen throughout SW Washington-NW Oregon.

It’s our WAY-FM team of donors who are making life change stories like this possible through their involvement in the ministry of Lower Columbia’s WAY-FM.

Sincerely,
Danny Houle
